Boosting the Higher Heating Value of Eucalyptus globulus via Thermochemical Liquefaction

نویسندگان

چکیده

Biomass can be envisaged as a potential solution to mitigate the problems that extensive exploitation of fossil sources causes on environment. Transforming biomass into added-value products with better calorific properties is highly desired. Thermochemical liquefaction convert bio-oil. The work herein presented concerns study direct Eucalyptus globulus sawdust. main goal was optimise operating conditions process achieve high bio-oil conversion rates. Studies were carried out understand impact factors, such residence time, catalyst concentration, temperature, and biomass-to-solvent ratio. E. sawdust achieved maximum 96.2%. A higher reached when eucalyptus sawdust’s thermochemical conducted over 180 min in presence >2.44% concentration at 160 °C. lower ratio favours leading afforded heating value than

Eucalyptus Globulus

"The authentic facts, relating to the remarkable power of the Eucalyptus Globulus in drjing marsh lands and rendering them healthy, are such as to deserve serious and general attention. It appears to be certain that where the Eucalyptus prospers intermittent fever disappears. This tree grows with incredible rapidity, absorbs ten times its own weight of water in twentyfour hours, and spreads thr...

Photosynthetic temperature responses of Eucalyptus globulus an

temperature of 4-year-old Eucalyptus globulus Labill. and E. nitens (Deane and Maiden) Maiden trees were measured between 10 and 35 °C at approximately monthly intervals from early spring to midwinter. The photosynthetic temperature optimum of recently expanded leaves in the sun canopy was linearly related to the average temperature of the preceding week during the 9-month measurement period. T...

Genetic Control of Heterochrony in Eucalyptus globulus

A change in the timing or rate of developmental events throughout ontogeny is referred to as heterochrony, and it is a major evolutionary process in plants and animals. We investigated the genetic basis for natural variation in the timing of vegetative phase change in the tree Eucalyptus globulus, which undergoes a dramatic change in vegetative morphology during the juvenile-to-adult transition...

Regional population expansion in Eucalyptus globulus.

Foundation tree species define the structure of forest habitat and influence their ecosystem dynamics. However, there is limited understanding of both the patterns and timing of population fluctuations in foundation trees and how they vary among geographical regions. We have reconstructed the demographic history of five genetically distinct populations of the Tasmanian blue gum (Eucalyptus glob...

Nitrogen-Fixing Bacteria in Eucalyptus globulus Plantations

Eucalypt cultivation is an important economic activity worldwide. In Portugal, Eucalyptus globulus plantations account for one-third of the total forested area. The nutritional requirements of this crop have been well studied, and nitrogen (N) is one of the most important elements required for vegetal growth. N dynamics in soils are influenced by microorganisms, such as diazotrophic bacteria (D...
